Head of Finance

Tesseract Investment, a leading Finnish digital asset investment company, is seeking an experienced and proactive Head of Finance to lead and evolve our finance function. In this role, you will take full ownership of the company’s financial operations, reporting directly to the COO and working closely with the CEO and other executives.

About the Role

You will oversee all aspects of financial planning, reporting, and control, ensuring that Tesseract’s financial management supports its continued growth, regulatory compliance, and strategic objectives. This role combines hands-on leadership with strategic foresight, making it ideal for a finance professional with a strong operational background and a forward-looking mindset.

Key Responsibilities

• Strategic Financial Leadership: Own and drive financial planning, forecasting, and performance management processes, enabling data-driven decision-making at the executive level.
• Financial Reporting & Oversight: Own and drive internal and external financial reporting, including monthly management reports, board reporting, and financial statements in close collaboration with the company’s Controller and external accountant.
• Budgeting & Forecasting: Lead the budgeting process, including long-term financial projections, business scenario planning, and variance analysis.
• Audit & Regulatory Coordination: Manage annual audits and ensure timely compliance with tax, audit, and regulatory reporting (including crypto-specific obligations).
• Process Development & Internal Controls: Design and implement efficient, scalable financial processes and controls to support the company’s growth and evolving regulatory landscape.
• Client & Portfolio Reporting: Supervise the delivery of accurate and timely performance reports for loan and investment portfolios to Tesseract’s clients.
• Team Leadership & Collaboration: Collaborate closely with legal, risk, and operations teams; build and potentially expand the finance function in line with business growth.

What We’re Looking For

• A strategic thinker with the ability to execute operationally — someone who enjoys both steering the big picture and getting hands-on.
• Strong familiarity working in or with regulated financial institutions.
• Experience in or curiosity toward the world of crypto and/or fintech.
• A solution-oriented mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive experience in financial management, preferably with experience in a controller, senior controller or finance lead role.
• Degree in finance, accounting, economics, or business.
• Strong Excel and financial modelling skills; familiarity with accounting and financial reporting.
• Proven ability to manage audits, financial processes, and reporting cycles with a high degree of ownership and attention to detail.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills; fluent in English.
